Semicolons.............................
Being intimidated by never having figured out the proper use the semicolon is on the list of things that turned a potential English major into a History major. In the spirit of life-time learning, your assignment is to join me in reading up on them - here. There will not be a test.

The gorilla is a great example of why the semicolon is rarely used. In those examples the meaning is not changed even a little by using the semicolon but the sentence is harder to read.
