The see-saw economy............ or "you pays your money and you takes your chances"...................

It always cracks my head up (to quote my young son) when the
news folk tell us each day what the market was saying as it rises
and falls and otherwise gyrates to a beat of a drum most of us are
unlikely to hear.  Like they really have a clue.  A rational person
has to conclude that the only smart thing to do is ignore the
media buzz and just do your work.  Trying to make sense of this
chart (brought to us by the wonderblog Calculated Risk) would
otherwise seem to be a waste of productive time (like when I
could be blogging instead).
