The left flank............................

Sitting atop Gettysburg's Little Round Top, protecting the left flank of the Union Army, the 20th Maine is about out of ammunition and under heavy attack.  There are no reinforcements to be had. Using the advantage of the high ground, the regimental commander, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, orders a bayonet charge down the hill at the advancing Confederate Army.   History shows Chamberlain and the 20th Maine saved the day.  July 2, 1863
