Our friends at Amazon have posted a list of 100 Books to Read in a Lifetime. It's actually a fairly interesting list (translated: I've read at least twenty of them and another dozen or so are shelved somewhere around the house). There must be something about human nature that won't let us look at a list without feeling the need to add to it. Goodreads went so far as to add another 100 (although there appears to be a few overlaps). Here is a start on my additions to the two lists:
Killer Angels, Michael Shaara
Trinity, Leon Uris
The Memory of Old Jack, Wendell Berry
The Prince of Tides, Pat Conroy
The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin
One Summer: America, 1927, Bill Bryson
The Poetry of Robert Frost
Red Storm Rising, Tom Clancy
The Road Less Traveled, M. Scott Peck
The Little World of Don Camillo, Giovanni Guareschi
The Map That Changed the World, Simon Winchester
