OK, Coach................................
"I cannot get rid of the hurt from losing, but after the last
out of every loss, I must accept that there will be a tomorrow.
In fact, it's more than there'll be a tomorrow, it's that I want
there to be a tomorrow. That's the big difference, I want
tomorrow to come."
-Sparky Anderson
About books.....................

| Conrad's manuscript for Heart of Darkness |
Of all the inanimate objects, of all of man's creations, books
are the nearest to us, for they contain our very thought, our
ambitions, our indignations, our illusions, our fidelity to truth,
our persistent leaning towards error. But most of all they
resemble us in their precarious hold on life.

Everything you need to know about music.........
There are two kinds of music - good music and bad music.
Good music is music that I want to hear. Bad music is
music that I don't want to hear.

Opening paragraphs............
In that pleasant district of merry England which is watered by the River Don, there extended in ancient times a large forest, covering the greater part of the beautiful hills and valleys which lie between Sheffield and the pleasant town of Doncaster. The remains of this extensive wood are still to be seen at the noble seats of Wentworth, of Wharncliffe Park, and around Rotherham. Here haunted of yore the fabulous Dragon of Wantley; here were fought many of the most desperate battles during the Civil Wars of the Roses; and here also flourished in ancient times those bands of gallant outlaws whose deeds have been rendered so popular in English song.

night looking for a woman that does him in."

Solving the deficit.....................
There is a quote attributed to Warren Buffett winging its way
through the Intertunnel (spent a few minutes trying to find the
original source where Buffett actually said it, but to no avail). He
is reputed to have said that the solution to the deficit problem is
easy:
"You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit
of more than 3% of GDP all sitting members of congress
are ineligible for reelection."
No word on whether or not he thinks passing such a law
would be easy.

Some interesting numbers.......................
Mathew Ferrara, in his always read-worthy blog, points to some
interesting numbers concerning us Realtors. Here is a sampling:
Let's see, those working 60 hours a weeks are making significantly
more income than those of us slackers working 40 hours or less.
Hmmmm. That hardly seems fair.

“Some people dream of success, while others wake
up and work hard at it.”
"You have to learn to win with what you got or you
don't win at all."
"Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You
must first set yourself on fire."

On reading and schooling...................
But education does not stop with schooling, nor does the
responsibility for the ultimate educational fate of each of us
rest entirely on the school system. Everyone can and must
decide for himself whether he is satisfied with the education
he got, or is now getting if he is still in school. If he is not
satisfied, it is up to him to do something about it. With
schools as they are, more schooling is hardly the remedy.
One way out - perhaps the only one available to most people -
is to learn to read better, and then, by reading better, to learn
more of what can be learned through reading.
